Artistic Director of London Children’s Ballet
Excited to announce that I’m taking over as Artistic Director of London Children’s Ballet.
After 25 years, Lucille Briance is stepping down as Artistic Director and has asked me to take the company forward. It feels the perfect moment to join the team and guide this company into the future.
London Children’s Ballet creates full length narrative ballets, with new scenarios, original musical scores and choreography. LCB builds fresh creative teams by linking choreographers, composers and designers together. The performances are of a high professional standard, working with the best lighting designers and technical teams in the business, and performing with a live orchestra in the West End. These are the outcomes that adult professional companies are striving to achieve.
In addition, LCB also has various outreach programmes which make dance accessible to the wider community. These include LCB Juniors (for ages 3-6); schools and charities matinees offering the chance to see a LCB performance for just £1; Ballet for Boys classes; summer schools; workshops and masterclasses. There is also a touring LCB company who go out into the community to perform in schools and care homes.
Lucille founded and built an incredible charity organisation with real soul. Year after year, I kept coming back to support LCB, and that LCB spirit is the reason why. Whether LCB inspires you to continue to pursue a career in dance, or whether it gives you skills which you then take on into any career, the LCB spirit never leaves you. I am committed to continue Lucille’s legacy and I will strive to develop new avenues in order to continue to provide young people, from all backgrounds, the chance to thrive through dance.
